30 Paintings 30 Days, day 25
Once upon a time, like three days ago, I did a really sucky painting. Today I decided to do it again, sans the sucky part.
She’s much better now. Nothing is the same here. Different digital brushes, different composition. The only similarities are the red dress and the beach.
But it’s STILL a do over in my head. Don’t you think?
This image, as well as others from the Women in Red series, is available as a gallery quality giclee print. Click the link on the sidebar for details.

Susan, you’re on day 25 and I JUST picked up that you’re painting digitally. Now I’m uber intrigued and impressed. PS I especially like the facelessness of your figure. It makes it so easy to be me. PSS I wish I was at the beach. I’d so wear red.

Actually I’m glad that it’s taken you so long to figure out that these are digital paintings, Susan. My whole intention here was to create ‘natural’ paintings, ones that don’t look like they began life as pixels.
A few of the have completed faces but I don’t like the way that closes them in and defines them as specific individuals. I’d much rather have the mystery the shadow face lends.
I so love all your Women in Red. But this well may be my favorite. And I know she is totally in favor of the magic of do overs. 🙂
If facebook is any indication, this one seems to be quite the hit, Deborah. definitely like those do overs 🙂
Just listen to the crashing of those waves. I’m there at the beach with her Susan. This is so evocative. The way she’s gripping her hat I just know it’s a windy, gorgeously sunny day. What a do over!
