30 Paintings 30 Days, day 16.
It’s late. I’m tired. No words tonight, just a picture.
Did you ever think I’d be at a loss for words?
But just because I am doesn’t mean you have to be. In fact, I’d love to hear your take on this. What do you think the story is? Because every painting has a story.
Looking forward to seeing what you have to say. I’ll be back tomorrow with some more Women in Red.

It’s amazing to me the life and emotiveness (is that actually a word?) you’ve been able to give this digital painting. I see a mom with a youngish daughter jumping up or standing on tip toes to embrace her (of maybe the mom is sitting) in a possibly bittersweet moment of mutual support.:)
The mother and daughter theme is one that came to me after I finished this painting, Bonnie. In the beginning it was just two women (friends? sisters?) but in the end the expressions and body language between them made me think of a daughter embracing her mom, either as you said in a bittersweet moment of mutual support or (a likely scenario around here) cajoling for a favor. 🙂
I see connection between two women during a vulnerable moment, a gentle “I know, I’ve been there” comforting embrace.
I love looking at art, so your 30 day challenge speaks to me.

I see that moment of vulnerability as well, Susan. That’s the beauty of art, we can let it speak to us and interpret it however we want.
Thanks for coming by!
I see a daughter apologising to her mom for inappropriate remarks stated earlier! The mom has heard it all before so she’s not upset however the girl is now feeling beyond guilty.
Love, love the colours.

You must have a daughter, Kelly 🙂
A daughter reassuring her mom, maybe she unintentionally said something hurtful?

Could be, Linda. As a daughter and a mother I know my mouth sometimes speaks before my brain thinks…
I love the acceptance and love you show here. So lovely.

Thank you, Naomi.
I love the comfort and connection I see in this painting… the reds make it a heart:heart kind of moment and there is a sense of absolved guilt and firm support on offer. Love you work, Susan!!! Keep painting, please! Much love, blessings and peace to you!
Thank you Jean. The reds are an ongoing theme in this series, something that evolved as I created the first one. Each new painting brings more clarity to me about what the overall purpose of this exercise is. There will be a blogpost about that one of these days. xo
