30 paintings 30 Days…Day 5
Autocorrect had it’s way with my friend Susie tonight. She was writing a post using the phrase ‘owning my bigness’ when the mysterious powers behind autocorrect deemed ‘owning my bones’ a much better fit.
And you know what? Autocorrect was right. Owning my bones. Talk. About. POWER!
If you read Arty life yesterday you may recall the somewhat whiny tone. Whine whine whine technology whine blah blah blah. Yes, I confess–I was feeling sorry for myself when I wrote it.
And that feeling carried over into the art space inside my head.
I just couldn’t muster up what it takes to jump into the creative deep end again.
So I spent a lot of time wasting time on the net. Facebook. Email. More Facebook. And then I stumbled upon this:
Watch this. If not now, then later. But watch it.
Because after watching this and assuming my powerpose I whipped out the ipad and boldly, confidently went where I haven’t gone before. Artistically speaking, that is.
Brave enough to leap in and own my creative bones.
Ye-Haw! What a difference a day makes, don’t you think?
Now I’m off to paint some more. XO my sweetums! XO
I love your picture and will have to watch the video. I think I know the pose you are referring to…they say to do it any time you feel afraid/lacking a sense of personal power and it’s much like the mountain pose in yoga. I can’t wait to watch the video!

It’s basic energy stuff, Michele. Radiating strength and certainty. The cool thing is they’re done research that verifies the hormonal changes that take place when you do it for as little as 2 minutes.
I think I’ve been in that same blah town as you Susan, perhaps it been all this cold weather we’ve been having even here in the South. But I love this digital art, amazing! I know this challenge will get you going again, I did one in the Fall and it was great, good luck, it was great hearing from you too!

Hi Sue! yeah, we all get those blah blahs…trick is not to wallow in them. Powerpose!
And stay warm!
Technology for the win!…Autocorrect, FB, youtube, iPad art…Love what you did with your new tools! So glad we were all having that conversation on FB!

Sometimes things just all line up and go the right way, Belinda 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.
Love the pictures!! I was just thinking the other day about how I want to get back into water colors. Red in Feng Shui is a power color. When you want to feel in control or bold where red. I love how you interpreted this in your drawings. Love it!!
I didn’t know that about red, Kelli, at least the official Feng Shui stance. I’m not sure why these women popped up wearing red but I’ll take it as a sign of powerful things to come.
Thanks!
So many of us are having a hard time getting jump started. Your girls in red are truly inspiring. Love your attitude..and your art. Great to meet you here!
The 30 day challenge is a great way to jumpstart, Marcie. Doesn’t have to be painting, could be almost anything that requires a daily focus. So glad you find my Women in Red inspiring 🙂
