I like this on-going bliss list thing. Makes me stop and notice the little moments, the ones that might get away otherwise. Makes me stop and go AHA! now this is something worth remembering.
Like the full moon in a rain so soft it’s not really rain, just moisture in the air. Watching it rise up through the woods. Through the pines. And then in the wee hours, when I wake up and look out the window and the ground looks like it’s covered in snow. But it’s not. It’s moonlight.
Like when I’m lovin’ on the ponies, saying goodnight. I make the kiss-kissy sounds and old horse cranes her neck forward so I can plant one on her nose, while the boy gives a soft, quick bump of his lips against my forehead.
Like Sophie. Always bliss. ALWAYS. Look at that face! And I can’t have a bliss list without a dog now, can I?
Like sitting on the sofa with DaughterDear, reminiscing about Mama, her Grandma. Telling stories. Laughing.
Like waking up the day AFTER the stomach flu and feeling NORMAL. Normal…Oh. My. God. NORMAL!!! Oh yes, now THAT’S what I call BLISS!
Your turn, my sweetums. Leave your lists in the comments below. And for more feel good blogs today, hop on over to Liv Lane and check out The Little Bliss List BLog Hop.
Like waking up the day AFTER the stomach flu and feeling NORMAL. Normal…Oh. My. God. NORMAL!!! Oh yes, now THAT’S what I call BLISS!
This REALLY resonates with me. I am generally a very healthy person. But when I DO feel poopy and then it is finally gone, there is nothing else that seems so much like a freakin’ miracle. We never appreciate our good health until we no longer have it.
It is a freakin’ miracle, Donna. Especially when you think of all the parts that is us. Maybe it’s the universe’s way of smacking us upside the head and saying PAY ATTENTION!
This was great! So glad to hear you are feeling better. I don’t get to be around horses very much, but when I do I absolutely LOVE IT!
Hi Patty, thanks for stopping by! As for horses, Will Rogers said ‘there’s nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside of a horse’. Think that about sums it up.
Sophie is just gorgeous! I can smell the ponies in my mind. I used to love riding ponies and love the softness of their faces. There are wild ponies on Dartmoor and last year, my lovely significant other drove us up there so I could get close and see them. A foal that was too young to be scared of humans came right up to me and tried to figure me out. It was one of my most blissful moments of all time. Em 🙂
What an experience with the foal, Emma. Two spirits connecting without fear… I no longer ride my horses but I love just hanging out with them outside, especially at night. They’re so…grounding.
Susan! Your page is just precious! I love all your pictures. Your sweet horse and doggy…what’s not to love? And the way you described the rain and moonlight…I could see it! Such a wonderful post! Glad you’re feeling better too!
Thanks Karen! I could’ve written an entire post about the moonlight. Hmmm… maybe I still will!
Susan, so glad you are feeling better but perhaps you passed your bad germs over to me through the computer! Yuck! I knew I should have cleaned that keyboard.
And your puppy is the sweetest, what kind is she?
Oh man, sorry I gave you the cyber flu, Sue. Hope you feel better soon.
Sophie is a Maltese/Poodle mix (maltipoo), as is Precious Man Dog AKA Bean. The hair grows and grows until I chop it off or I take them to the groomers. Right now Bean’s is almost 4 inches long. Sophie’s was but I couldn’t stand it any longer and gave her a mom hair cut. The photo up above is as she’s growing out from the groomer. I assure you my haircuts aren’t as even.
feeling normal after the flu is amazing! like you just got one over death!
Susan,
Love your pictures and your list! The way you described the rain/ moisture in the air and the moonlight “snow”. So beautiful ! Thank you for sharing. Love & Grace, AnaLisa
Thanks AnaLisa. If I were keeping score (and I’m not) I’d say the moon was the overall hit this week. Which is nice because it’s something we can all share. xo
Fantastic list. There really is nothing better than feeling better after a stomach flu. Enjoy your health this week 🙂
Remind myself EVERY day how good it feels to feel GOOD, right Christie?
There’s just something special about horses.
Funny, I got up this morning and put on my face, did my hair and when I looked in the mirror, my grandmother was looking back at me. (might have to go blog that one out, I’m getting a little teary) We sit and remember her often.
Maybe it was your grandmother…
